Wellness Digest Spring 2019

CNN publishes the 2019 Dirty Dozen and Clean Dozen food list. Some stellar nutritious food such as Kale has made it to the top Dirty Dozen list due to pesticide and pollutant residues being found even after washing. Pesticide consumption can be linked to cancer, the article points out. Dirty Dozen list includes: strawberries, spinach (oh no triple washed baby spinach is my personal favorite), grape, apple, nectarines, cherry, pear, tomato, celery, potato, sweet bell peppers - all sweet and delicious otherwise. The clean dozen include a few "shelled ones" like avocado, honeydew, cantaloupe,  papaya, pineapple, eggplant, peas, and also a few "open ones" t hat are known to be healthy too: sweet corns, broccoli, cauliflower, onions, asparagus, kiwi, cabbage, mushrooms!
